Query your data

Once you have setup your metadata, you can start asking questions about your data on the Query Data page.

Getting started

Start asking questions

Just type in your question in the search bar to get started. In the results, you will see the relevant data to answer your question. By default, Defog shows the results as a table, but you can also view the results as a chart by clicking on the Chart tab.

View results as code

You can also view the results as code by clicking on the SQL/Code tab. This will show you the code that was generated and executed on your database to get the results. If you would like to edit the SQL and run it directly from here, you can do so by just editing the SQL anc clicking on the Re run button.

Ask questions from Slack

You can also ask questions from Slack by installing a Slack app. Instructions for how to do this are coming soon.

Advanced questions

Defog's Advanced Mode lets users ask more complex questions, such as performing stastical analysis. You can switch to Advanced Mode by switching to Advanced in the search bar.
